Daisy Adare’s story is one shared by far too many ex-racehorses. Foaled in 2005, she entered the racing world young and eager, making her final recorded start in 2008. After that, her history goes completely silent. From 2009 to 2025, there is nothing, no records, no updates, no trace of the life she lived.

What we can assume, based on where she ultimately surfaced, is that Daisy spent many of those unaccounted-for years as an Amish buggy horse. Like many Standardbreds who fall out of racing, this is a common next chapter, often marked by long hours, hard work, and minimal rest.

This past summer, Daisy’s path took a heartbreaking turn when she appeared in a kill pen, a place no horse, especially one who has already given so much, should ever end up. Her bail was paid by an adopter who initially “rescued” her, but sadly, they soon gave up on her. This is one of the most devastating parts of the racing industry's aftermath, horses who were once celebrated for their speed or their earnings can become disposable when their usefulness fades.

Daisy made less than $7,500 for her racing owners, an amount so small in the racing world that it rendered her a “throwaway.” Yet, to us, Daisy is anything but. She is a life worth saving, a spirit worth honoring, and a soul deserving of stability and rest.

With us, Daisy will never again question her safety, her value, or her purpose. She is home.
She is wanted. She is safe for the rest of her life.

Welcome home, Daisy Adare. Your new chapter begins now, and this time, you will never be forgotten.
